PHOTO PROMPT © Roger Bultot
Few people peppered the diner. Candy preferred it this way. Quiet and intimate. She slid into a booth by the window, checked her watch.
They met here everyday at eleven. It was her secret.
Across the street she watched him leave his office. Her breath caught in her throat as he entered the diner. She loved the grey suit he wore today. Complemented his eyes. Deep blue. At the counter she knew he was ordering a cappuccino. Take away. His eyes roamed the diner not really settling on anything. Or anyone.
They met everyday at eleven. It was her secret.

Hi Bryan. She could be a stalker or just an infatuated young girl. And I took the photo for the header in Venice. I don’t know if it’s a store but was just a doorway from a side street. Was so intriguing! Thank you for reading too😊

I’d should have gone to Venice when I was Italy. I went to Florence instead. No regrets… kind of. Still Roma is one of my favorite cities ever.

Next time I go I will do the Florence – Roma route. They sound amazing. I was in the north Torino – Milan – Venezia. Torino was my favourite. A touch of German there. Beautiful places.

I’m not sure who has the bigger problem out of these too – her, or possibly him if he ever changes his routine! Great take.

He does seem a bit in the clouds if he can’t notice the same woman in the same diner everyday at eleven!

Love it. Leaves me wondering what would happen if she actually spoke to him. Good story.

Well done. She must fade into the background if he never notices her, which is kind of sad.

It’s great you picked up on that part of her. She never takes a risk and goes unnoticed… Thank you Sascha.

Maybe he’s happily married or attached and she’s dreaming. And sometimes dreams are better than reality. 😉

Sometimes dreams can be so much better than reality. 😁 reality bites. But we need dreams to help us create a better reality don’t we? Thanks Christine.

I thought this was a great little story! I know you were limited to the 100 word count, but I think this is an idea that would really benefit from some more words that would develop your main character and while still being a flash fiction piece would be a great story to try and get published.

Thank you Michael. Great feedback. I’ll consider doing just that.

I absolutely love this, Fatima.
It makes me think of “While You Were Sleeping” with Sandra Bullock…

Thank you Dale. Sandra Bullock was hilarious in that movie. And she did admire him from afar too in the same way.
