PHOTO PROMPT © Fatima Fakier
Shawn couldn’t remember what he walked into the living room for. Old age was really messing with him. He remembered he was on the phone with Johnny… Oh yes! Now he remembered! Johnny wanted some file. Where did he say it was again? Something about a tabletop.
There it is on the dining table! He grabbed the file and when Johnny’s driver arrived, dutifully handed it over.
Fifteen minutes later Johnny called again, laughing so hard he could barely get the words out. “Pa, I meant a copy of the file on the desktop computer.”

Honestly, Johnny should have known better.

Haha
This is quite common. I feel for the elderly.
Great story.

Ah, poor Shawn – and silly Johnny for not realising his Pa wouldn’t realise what he was talking about. Good take on the photo prompt!

Poor Shawn. I think Johnny’s going to have to get it himself. At least Johnny was okay about it and didn’t snap at his dad 🙂

Well, in Shawn’s defence, Johnny should have been much more clear 😉

Dear Fatima,
This made me laugh and it also made me a little sad. Sometimes communication from generation to generation is like trying to speak Spanish to someone who only speaks Chinese. And the beat goes on. Good story and picture. Thank you for the loan.

And that communication gap isn’t limited to technology either. Thank you for picking my photo this week, Rochelle 🙂

That sounds like my mom. She has no clue about technology. She was trying to downsize and clear the clutter out of her house. She kept calling it “downloading.”

Oh, so funny! Yes, my generation grew up with a whole different understanding of certain words: File, document, net, web, log, bits and bites, and so on. Sometimes it’s hard to break the old ways of thinking.
